Stop shaken baby syndrome

Period of Purple Crying Program

The Period of Purple Crying Program applies 50 years of research on normal infant crying to an evidence-based Shaken Baby Syndrome prevention program which includes literature and videos.

El Paso Children's Center for Prevention of Child Abuse trains new parents and caregivers to help them understand patterns of crying in normal infants and prepare them to recognize and cope with the frustration that could potentially lead to shaking or abuse.

The original intro into this program was grant funded.  Donor dollars fund the necessary ongoing materials used for parent education.
