The Department of Pediatric Surgery at El Paso Children’s Hospital provides general and specialized surgical services designed to restore children from birth to adulthood suffering from a wide range of routine to highly complex illnesses including congenital and acquired conditions. Our board certified pediatric surgeons and support team work in an academic teaching environment that emphasizes family centered care. Together with El Paso Children's highly-trained pediatric anesthesiologists, these teams approach each and every procedure with the unique skills and care for pediatric patients.

Mizuhosi Surgical Table, $158,178
This highly advanced table offers surgical positioning designed to support the biomechanical aspects of spinal and imaging procedures, featuring software-controlled advanced hinge technology to allow for flexion and extension, and provides direct visualization of intraoperative changes in spinal alignment with the choice of two positioning Hinge Modes, Fixed Surgical Site and Fixed End, to allow for optimal patient positioning and surgical site control.
The table’s positioning and operating functions are controlled by an intelligent hand pendant, which displays real time information on the table’s state and provides continual user feedback.
GE OEC Digital Mobile C-Arm, $157,932
Funded by El Paso Children's Foundation, the GE OEC Elite Digital Mobile Arm provides high quality low dose surgical imaging. Specialized monitors and software allow radiologists to focus in on details and perform other manipulations to the image. It also instantly calls up digitized prior studies for comparison, improving diagnostic accuracy.

This equipment allows the Ophthalmologist to deliver a spray of Laser energy when utilizing the DIODE laser on new babies in the perioperative surgical area.
One (1) Anorectal Manometry, $15,656
Effective for screening for Hirschsprung's Disease, a birth defect in which nerve cells are missing at the end of a child's bowel, the anorectal reduces the need for more invasive intestinal biopsies.
JustRight Surgical Generator, $16,000
Minimally invasive vessel sealing system designed with pediatric patients in mind, the JustRight Generator's low-power bipolar output delivers 25 watts of controlled energy. This results in less than 1mm thermal spread and shorter sealer times, ensuring safety and precision in the smallest of patients.
Belimed Autoclave, $104,887.88
More than 3,000 patients per year will be impacted by the addition of the Belimed Autoclave that will be able to process 12 trays at once rather than two trays in the sterile processing department and perioperative services.
