El Paso Children's Foundation Receives Grant To Continue Car Seat Safety Clinics
El Paso, Texas.- El Paso Children’s Foundation received a grant of the amount of $61,533 from Kohl’s Cares Foundation. This grant goes to support the Kohl’s Cares for Kids Car Seat Safety Clinic.
The clinics rotate between Kohl’s department stores at Basset Place, east side and west side locations. During the clinics, certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will evaluate the child’s car seat for safety and proper fit. If the car seat does not meet current safety guidelines, or if it is the incorrect car seat for the child’s age, height and weight, it will be replaced with a new car seat free of charge.
Trained technicians also provide important car seat safety education to the family, and instruct them on how to properly install their car seat.
“From September of 2015 to September of 2016, El Paso Children’s Foundation provided with over 800 seats to our families in our community”. Said Carolyn Williams, Program Manager of El Paso Children’s Foundation Volunteer Corps. “With this grant, the goal is to donate 800 more in the next 12 months.” She added.
