Hyundai Hope on Wheels Donated $100,000

Local officials and representatives from Hyundai Hope on Wheels gathered to present a $100,000 check to the El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation. The Hyundai Impact Award Grant was awarded to support the expansion of outpatient infusion access for pediatric oncology patients along the U.S.-Mexico border, providing much-needed resources for children battling cancer in the region.

For over 26 years, Hyundai Hope on Wheels has been a national leader in the fight against childhood cancer. The organization has funded cutting-edge research, raised public awareness, and collaborated with partners to create a cancer-free future for children. In 2024, Hyundai Hope on Wheels surpassed a lifetime total of $250 million in donations, supporting over 1,300 grants to 175 hospitals and research institutions nationwide.

“This incredible gift touched countless lives throughout our region,” said Dr. Abigail Tarango, Executive Director of El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation. “It was not only a testament to Hyundai’s commitment to the Paso del Norte region but also a reminder that our work is making a difference. Hyundai Hope on Wheels, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was established in 1998 and has become one of the largest nonprofit funders of pediatric cancer research in the United States. Its funding primarily comes from Hyundai Motor America and its network of more than 830 U.S. dealers.

This generous donation represented a significant step forward in advancing healthcare access and improving outcomes for pediatric oncology patients in El Paso and beyond. With partners like Hyundai Hope on Wheels, the El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to building a brighter, cancer-free future for children.
