On Saturday, August 10, the El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation (EPCHF) hosted a signature fundraising event, “Una Noche Cubana,” at the prestigious El Paso Country Club. The evening, filled with Cuban-inspired elegance and activities, proved to be a remarkable celebration of community, compassion, and commitment to pediatric healthcare in the El Paso region.

Guests were transported to Havana from the moment they arrived, greeted by a stunning vintage car display and an interactive fedora hat wall. Dressed in their finest fedoras, guayaberas, and summer dresses, attendees enjoyed a night filled with vibrant energy, set against the rhythmic backdrop of Ray Colao and The Colao Show Band.

The evening offered a variety of interactive experiences, including a live auction, a hole-in-one contest, and a sumptuous three-course dinner. Guests also explored a fine rum tasting station, cafecito and dessert bars, and cozy lounge areas designed to enhance the night’s ambiance.

A Cause Close to Home

Dr. Abigail Tarango, executive director of EPCHF, emphasized the importance of the event in addressing the community’s need for accessible pediatric specialty care. “Una Noche Cubana is more than just an event; it is a celebration of the generosity and commitment of our sponsors and donors,” Dr. Tarango shared. “Their support enables us to deliver exceptional care to our youngest and most vulnerable patients right here in El Paso.”

Making a Difference

Funds raised during the event will directly support the development of a much-needed cardiology service line at the El Paso Children’s Hospital. This initiative ensures that children in the region can access high-quality medical care close to home, eliminating the burden of traveling long distances for treatment.
